Rose Mix

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Rose mix is a blend of mineral and organic materials specially formulated for roses, but is a beneficial amendment for almost any plant. The components of rose mix offer stabilized organic sources of compost, peat moss, coir (coconut husk), nitrogen enhanced redwood shavings as well as mineral components including perlite, and horticultural sand to improve soil porosity and provide long term carbon sources to plants. A wetting agent is applied to help aid water absorption in this primarily organic blend.

PRODUCT USES:
Rose mix can be used in Pots, containers or blended with to existing soil to backfill planting holes. This mix also makes a great raised bed planting medium or general soil amendment for acid loving plants, like roses or azaleas as well as most other plants.

PRODUCT APPLICATION:
Apply rose mix as a sole planting medium directly into pots or containers. When planting into the ground excavate a large hole and reserve some of the existing soil to blend with the mix. Usually 50% onsite soil with 50% of the mix, however heavier clay soils or sandy soils may require more of the mix to attain the desired texture and porosity. Mixing with existing soil will allow roots of the plants to transition into surrounding soil as the plant matures. Applying a mulch layer of 3/8" Lifelike Compost will dress the planted areas with a dark uniform cover to help retain water and suppress weed growth.
