PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Lightweight Planter Soil is a blend of Nitrolized Doug Fir Shavings, 0-1/4" Plain Fir Bark, Sand, & Lifelike 3/8" Compost. This soil is relatively lightweight due to its high organic content and extremely low clay content. Although it has a superior percolation rate, its water and nutrient holding ability greatly reduces leaching of valuable plant nutrients and minerals. The components are long lasting, thereby minimizing undesirable shrinkage and settling.

PRODUCT USES:
Lightweight 2000 Planter Soil is intended primarily for use as a planting mix for rooftop or parking structure containers and planter boxes where weight is a factor. Lightweight 2000 Planter Soil has excellent moisture-holding capacity which requires less watering yet retains density and drainage properties. The use of a pre-plant fertilizer is recommended.

PRODUCT APPLICATION:
Lightweight 2000 Planter Soil may be applied directly as a backfill for Planters. Lightweight 2000 Planter Soil may also be applied to existing native soil by rotor-tilling a 2" layer 2" to 4" into the existing soil. (This rotor-tilled layer is important as it establishes a transition zone.) A final layer of 4" may then be applied to the rotor-tilled surface. May also be used in large container pots.
