PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
#30 Silica Sand is a clean washed kiln-dried sand free of deleterious organic matter, silt, and clay. #30 Silica Sand is white in color and has a uniform particle size which helps prevent compaction. A common question is "Is Silica harmful?" Inhaling finely divided crystalline silica dust in significant quantities can lead to silicosis or (much more rarely) cancer, as the dust becomes lodged in the lungs and continuously irritates them (silica does not dissolve over time). This effect can be an occupational hazard for people working with sandblasting equipment, products that contain powdered silica, and so on. When using for sandblasting, proper protective equipment should be used to protect from the dust emitted.

PRODUCT USES:
#30 Silica Sand is excellent for use in playgrounds, tot lots, play boxes, volleyball courts, or as a resilient surface under play equipment . It is specified as a resilient surface by the City and County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Departments. #30 Silica Sand may also be used as sandblast or plaster sand and its white color makes it an eye-catching accent to a landscape theme.
