PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Pumice is a highly vesicular igneous rock, white in color made from a volcanic eruption. Pumice has an average porosity of 90%. Pumice is formed as pyroclastic material is ejected into the air as a froth containing masses of gas bubbles or vesicles, the lava solidifies quickly and the vesicles are contained in the rock. Soils pumice has been screened on a 3/16" screen to provide an excellent additive to greenhouse mixes. Because pumice is lightweight, highly absorbent, and provides superior aeration, it is an excellent additive in planting mediums.

PRODUCT USES:
Pumice is recommended for use in soil less greenhouse production mixes, where it is important to maintain a rather lightweight, aerated, well-draining soil. Pumice can also be blended into native soils where aeration needs to be improved. Pumice is also widely used to make lightweight concrete.
